Smart home for landed and larger homes in Singapore

Updated

Bigger homes need real network design before clever automations. Coverage across floors, a perimeter to watch, and controls that work for every generation in the house.

In a landed house, the first problem is rarely automation. It is coverage: a signal that reaches every floor, a gate and perimeter that need watching, and a household of several generations who each expect something different. We start with the foundations, then build the automations on top.

What a larger home needs first

  • A structured network. Wired runs to where access points will sit, so Wi-Fi does not depend on a single router at one end of the house. See our Wi-Fi guide.
  • Gate and perimeter. Gate status, door and window sensors and camera coverage on one dashboard.
  • Cameras that do more. If you already have CCTV, an edge analytics box may add features without replacing it. See our guide on adding AI to existing CCTV.
  • Controls for everyone. Physical switches keep working, and wall keypads or a simple tablet help family members and helpers who never installed an app.

How we approach it

  1. Walk the property, floor by floor, noting walls, dead spots and where cables can run.
  2. Plan the network first, then devices.
  3. Roll out in stages, by floor or by function, so the house is usable at every step.

Common questions

Do I need a wired network for a landed house?

Wired runs to access points are more reliable than depending on Wi-Fi alone, especially across floors. We plan the cable routes with you, ideally before ceilings and walls are finished.

Can cameras record locally?

Where the camera supports it, yes. Recording can stay on hardware in your home instead of a vendor cloud.

Will the system still work if the internet is down?

The core runs locally. Automations, wall switches and sensors keep working. Remote access and cloud-only devices pause until the connection returns. Read more in our guide on what keeps working offline.

Next step

Send us a rough floor plan and tell us who lives in the house. That tells us what the controls need to cover.

Have a larger home? Tell us about the property and we will start with a coverage and layout review.
